Believe it or not, our four-legged canine friends make us happy. We just love watching our furbaby's different postures, playful nature, and hounding on every little thing, just like human babies.

Spending quality time with a pup really works like magic. Besides watching them in real life, many of us love watching dog movies as well.

No matter whether you are a pet owner or not, if watching all those cute doggish dramas entertain you, definitely play a dog film on your next movie night.

If you've already got a furry friend, do make him your movie partner. Trust me; he would love to be a couch potato and snuggle with you while watching some of his kind doing stuff on the big screen.

Think if we could take our dogs to movie theaters, what fun it would have been. I mean, how lucky your dog would have felt while putting the 3D glares on! Unfortunately, we are not allowed to do so.

But at least we can offer our pups the same sort of experience at home, especially because Netflix has got tons of dog films to stream. Yes, it's Pawesome

But as I said, Netflix has a number of dog movies, so finding out the most entertaining ones is a bit tricky.

That's why I have prepared a list of top 5 to reduce your hassle in finding the best dog movies on Netflix.

So, what are you waiting for, just scroll through the list, pick one as per your choice of genre, grab a bowl of popcorn, and start your dose of entertainment! Here you go!

What Are the Best Dog Movies on Netflix?

Starting from heartwarming to heart-wrenching, old to the latest, there are a plethora of good dog movies on Netflix. I have put some of the types, including the animated ones here, on my list. Take a look to select the one as per your choice.

Benji (2018)

IMDb Rating- 6.3

Since 1974, the makers of Benji has released 4 amazing movies. This latest one is kind of an adaptation from the very first movie of the Benji series but comes in a completely different mold.

The movie is all about an orphan dog, his sidekick, and two kids. These 2 kids save the dog at the beginning of the movie, and in the second half, they get kidnapped.

Now, the story goes through several twists and turns and shows the intelligence of a pup by making the dog solve the mystery and saving those two kids.

Since the early 70s, the Benji movie series has got an incredible response from the audience, and Hollywood couldn't yet get over the fever of a mystery-solving dog. If you like this genre, you must watch this movie at least once with your furry buddy.

The Champions (2015)

IMDb Rating- 8.6

Here is one of the best dog movies on Netflix. This movie shows the cruel side of humanity by portraying a character Michale Vick, a former star quarterback. In the movie, Vick is a part of an illegal dog fighting business, which was being run.

The dogs were obliged to fight in the ring; if they don't, they get beaten up and tortured. Only the first half of the movie is enough to leave you teary-eyed.

You will see how people get away with such crimes as Vick is sentenced to be imprisoned for 23 months only. After that, you will get to watch him leading a normal life as a football player.

But the story doesn't end here. Because of all these messes, 50 pit-bulls are left behind. And they are so disturbed due to the aftermath of all these circumstances that these dogs are tagged to be the "ticking time bombs" by PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals). Such a pathetic ending!

But no, the movie doesn't end here as well. The best surprise is yet to come. Yes, finally, you will see that those 50 dogs are given a second chance to change and have a good life because they deserved it.

Finally, those dogs change completely and start becoming friends with each other, along with inspiring lives around them. Now, that's a superb ending, isn't it?

Turner and Hooch (1989)

IMDb Rating- 6.2

Last but not least, ‘Turner and Hooch’ is here on my list of Netflix dog movies. This movie stars Tom Hanks, who plays the role of a detective named Scott Turner.

He lives quite a monotonous and orderly life. Only solving the case is what life means to him until one day, he meets with a brutish dog named Hooch, who is the sole witness of a murder.

Turner gets the case and takes on the responsibilities of the dog, but his world turns upside down. Eventually, he develops a pure bond with the dog with time. And finally, the movie proceeds towards the final showdown with different twists.

Balto (1995)

IMDb Rating- 7.1

Do you love to watch animated movies? If yes, here is a masterpiece- Balto, among all the good dog movies on Netflix. This movie is all about the pure loyalty of a half-husky half-wolf breed dog, Balto.

We know that dogs would love to die to save the humans they love. The makers of this movie took this reality and portrayed it in an amazing way.

The only difference is Balto puts his life in danger not only for his master but for an entire city of Nome in Alaska. A number of twists are there in the movie. You can probably lose track of time while watching because this movie is really engaging.

White Fang (2018)

IMDb Rating- 6.9

White Fang is one of the best Netflix dog movies. This animated film will completely feed the hunger of you and your pup to watch a good one.

It's an adaptation of a timeless novel written by the very popular author, Jack London. You will get to watch the adventurous life of a wolf-dog with his 3 different masters.

The story of white fang is a classic evergreen one, and it really does the magic. In spite of being an adaptation, this film has done proper justice to the story with engaging visuals and amazing soundtracks.

It's not only a movie for kids, but adults also can have a good time while watching this movie. Trust me; by the ending, you will be on the verge of tears.
